VOLUNTEER PROGRAM GOALSTo provide adequate information, training, and assistance for the volunteer to be able to meet the responsibilities of the volunteer position. To ensure diligent supervisory aid to the volunteer and to provide feedback on performance. To be receptive to any comments from the volunteer regarding ways in which we might mutually better accomplish our respective tasks. To treat the volunteer as an equal partner, jointly responsible with staff for completion of the program mission.
ORGANIZATION'S MISSION STATEMENTThe Brantford and District Supervised Access Centre offers safe neutral child focused services including Supervised Visits Exchanges and support for families.
VOLUNTEER ROLE & OPPORTUNITIESEnsures the immediate safety of the children using B.D.S.A.C. Observes, objectively, parent and child interactions during visits or exchanges and records pertinent information. Helps parents and children toward building healthy relationships. Documents whether parents are following B.D.S.A.C. rules. Supports the Team Leader and Supervisors. Volunteers for 1 shift per week. Attends any scheduled volunteer meetings.
